Ernie Ball Cobalt STHB Slinky 7-String 10-62 Electric Guitar Strings
This is a set of Ernie Ball COBALT electric guitar strings
The feel of Cobalt is quite different to nickel. It has more of a textured, matte surface which offers a particularly playable grip under fingers; something that a lot of players are searching for.
Cobalt is known as a transition metal and is a byproduct of nickel or copper production. It innately provides a greater magnetic response than nickel resulting in higher output and bigger, bolder, more-focused upper midrange. Ernie Ball combines cobalt with iron to create the most magnetic alloy available in a set of guitar strings.
When played clean these strings sound loud and bright with a sparkling top-end and phat presence, however when thrown into the mix with a bit of drive and a set of humbuckers the tone intensely full with pronounced midrange and raw-sound, edgy top. In fact, I’d go as far to say that these strings were created to riff!
