Ernie Ball FLATS Flatwound Stainless Steel 12-52 Electric Guitar Strings

Ernie Ball FLATS Flatwound Stainless Steel 12-52 Electric Guitar Strings

FLATS are the first standard flat wound electric guitar strings offering from Ernie Ball. These smooth ribbon wound strings have a sleek, slinky feel with a naturally round sound.

As with all Ernie Ball strings they have a tin-plated steel hex core for great intonation and solid fundamental tone. The outer flattened-tape wrap wire is stainless steel which, once wound, is polished to mirror-like surface - can you see my reflection in the photo?!

Although flat wound strings are associated with that darker, vintage, even jazzy tone - and, trust me, they do that perfectly - these strings sound so good with high-gain! Find a new note definition in your riffs with flats!

Ernie Ball says:
ā€œErnie Ball Stainless Steel Flatwound guitar strings are the perfect complement for players seeking a warm, mellow tone and a smooth vintage feel. The wound strings are constructed with tin-plated steel hex cores, wound with a stainless steel ribbon wrap that has been polished to a smooth glass-like finish. The resulting sound is vintage-inspired with a dark, smooth fundamental. Due to the polished flat ribbon surface, the inherent finger noise with traditional strings is virtually eliminated making these strings a favorite among Jazz players and session recording artists alike.ā€
