This is a set of Jim Dunlop Super Bright 5-string bass strings with gritty stainless steel wrap wire, light-medium gauge 45-125. We’ve heard these strings do everything from a heavy metal growl to silky, smooth funk.
‘Super Bright’ is a cool-sounding but odd name for this range of strings because it’s not literal, at least to my ear. These strings have clout! They have full-on low-end drive with punch, and clear, but smooth definition and clarity. They respond brilliantly to changes in timbre and dynamic, completely balanced across the whole spectrum.
Get them on a P-Bass and you’ll have a truly monster sound!
